All of ALTRAFIN’s managing directors and investment professionals are former employees of renowned banks, family offices and audit companies, and have amassed broad international experience of managing large asset structures.

Our well-established investment and risk management team have been working together successfully for many years, characterised by their intentionally diverse composition.
The team are required and encouraged to demonstrate interdisciplinary and critical thinking to ensure success in a complex financial market environment.
The team’s efficient decision-making structures extend from securities and market analysis through to investment implementation. We are flexible and undogmatic. This helps us to ensure the company can respond rapidly, even in critical capital market phases.
Managing Directors
The managing directors and founding partners of ALTRAFIN are Patrick Picenoni and Alessandro Rizzi, CFA, who have known each other since graduating together with degrees in Business Administrations and Economics from the University of St Gallen in 1996 (MBA). Before their paths crossed again at a family investment office, Patrick Picenoni worked for Morgan Stanley as a portfolio manager and investment advisor in New York, London and Zurich, while Alessandro Rizzi was a consultant for Ernst & Young and PWC in Zurich.

Expanded management team
The expanded management team consist of Pascal Fischbach who serves as co-portfolio manager and senior analyst, and Christian von Veltheim the head of risk management and compliance. Pascal Fischbach studied business administration at the University of St. Gallen and started his career at ALTRAFIN after completing his Master’s degree in Banking & Finance. Christian von Veltheim worked at a Family Office of a German entrepreneurial family after completing his Master in Financial Management at the TIAS Business School in Utrecht in 2007, before joining the ALTRAFIN Group in 2011.
