Team
Altrafin AG is a company that distinguishes itself by the experience and competence of their employees. The managing directors and investment professionals are former employees of renowned banks, family offices and consulting firms. They have acquired broad international experience in the management of large asset structures. Our well-rehearsed investment and risk management team has been working together successfully for many years and is characterized by a deliberately heterogeneous composition.
In order to operate successfully in the complex financial market environment, interdisciplinary and critical thinking is encouraged. The efficient decision-taking process from securities and market analysis to investment implementation enable flexible action, especially in critical phases on the capital markets.
Patrick Picenoni
Patrick Picenoni is a founding partner and portfolio manager. He holds a master’s degree in business administration from the University of St. Gallen (lic.oec. HSG). After his studies, he worked as an analyst and portfolio manager at Bank Morgan Stanley in New York, London and Zurich. Before founding Altrafin in 2001, he was Senior Portfolio Manager in the Family Investment Office of Beisheim Holding GmbH in Baar.
Alessandro Rizzi, CFA
Alessandro Rizzi, CFA is a founding partner and portfolio manager. He holds a master’s degree in business administration from the University of St. Gallen (lic. oec. HSG). After his studies he worked for PricewaterhouseCoopers and Ernst & Young. He is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) and a federally certified tax expert. Prior to founding Altrafin in 2001, he was Senior Investment Manager at the Family Investment Office of Beisheim Holding GmbH in Baar.
Laura Prina Cerai, CFA
Laura Prina Cerai, CFA, is head of research and portfolio manager. She has 17 years of investment experience with asset managers, private clients, and family offices. Prior to joining Altrafin in 2015, she worked as a senior investment advisor and portfolio manager at Rothschild & Co. in Zurich and started her career as an equity analyst at Financier de L’Echiquier Asset Management in Paris and Salt Lake City (Utah, USA). She holds a master’s degree in international business from the Rotterdam School of Management (2006) and a Bachelor’s degree in Economics and Finance from Bocconi University in Milan (2004). Laura Prina Cerai is a CFA Chartholder.
Christian von Veltheim
Christian von Veltheim has been with Altrafin since 2011 and is a member of the extended management board. He is responsible for risk management and compliance. Christian von Veltheim holds a BA from the University of Westminster, London and an MSc in Financial Management from the TIAS School of Business, Utrecht.
Oliver von Aesch, CFA
Oliver von Aesch, CFA, joined Altrafin in August 2014 as Investment Analyst & Portfolio Manager. His focus is on investment research of equities & bonds from a top-down macro perspective. He has more than 10 years of experience in the financial industry. During his previous employment at UBS AG, he mainly responsible for complex reporting solutions for high-net-worth individuals as well as institutional clients. Oliver von Aesch holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration with a major in Banking and Finance at the Zurich School of Economics. He is CFA Chartholder.
Marc von Waldkirch
Marc von Waldkirch joined Altrafin in 2020 and leads projects in the area of long-term strategic corporate development. In addition, he is responsible for expansion of client portfolios in the core market of Switzerland. These include entrepreneurs / inside, corporate families, family offices, as well as foundations and institutional investors with an entrepreneurial background. After completing his master’s degree at the University of St. Gallen in 2003 (M.A. HSG), he worked in various functions in the areas of Wealth Management, Asset Management, Investment Banking and Private Banking. He has held various positions in Wealth Management, Corporate Finance and Fintech in Zurich, Singapore and London.
Pascal Fischbach
Pascal Fischbach has been working for Altrafin in the areas of investment research and portfolio management since 2011. His focus is on investment research for both equities and bonds (credit research, corporate bonds). Prior to joining Altrafin, he graduated in Business Administration from the University of St. Gallen (HSG) with a specialization in Banking and Finance (lic. oec. HSG)
